At Renewed Life, Toby and Sussan understand that the transition into parenthood reshapes both individuals and relationships. Their work is focused on helping couples prepare emotionally, relationally and practically for this next chapter before pressure, exhaustion and unspoken expectations take hold.

Their distinctive dual therapist approach begins with individual sessions, offering each partner a safe and supportive space to explore personal expectations of parenthood, family of origin influences, emotional needs and stress responses. Toby works with one partner from a male perspective, while Sussan supports the other from a female perspective, allowing for honest reflection and clarity without judgement.

These individual insights are then brought back into joint sessions, where Toby and Sussan work together to help couples align expectations, strengthen communication and build emotional safety as they prepare for life with a baby. This integrated process supports couples to enter parenthood united, equipped and deeply connected, with a shared understanding of roles, values and teamwork.

person covered with white blanket

Most couples prepare for a baby. Very few prepare their relationship.

Becoming parents is one of the most joyful transitions in life. It is also one of the most demanding seasons a relationship will ever face.

Before Baby is a guided relationship journey created to prepare couples emotionally, relationally, and psychologically before pressure begins shaping connection, communication, and intimacy.
